Dr. Ukandu is a U.S. Army wartime veteran and former paratrooper whose service and professional experience span three Department of Defense components: U.S. Army active-duty and civilian service, U.S. Air Force civilian acquisition service through the GS-1102-13 level, and contractor support to the Defense Health Agency in federal healthcare acquisition.

He brings together federal contracting experience, doctoral research, military service, and a commitment to developing people and organizations. His work is grounded in disciplined execution, ethical stewardship, and measurable mission outcomes.

Dr. Valentine Okechukwu Ukandu was among 50 Walden students, recent alumni, and faculty who presented at the symposium. He presented his completed doctoral research, “Employee Experiences of Rewards Systems and Work Performance in Undesirable Locations,” during a moderated 45-minute virtual session.

The presentation addressed the study's qualitative phenomenological methodology, findings from 20 participants working in the military, healthcare, and retail sectors, practitioner implications, and potential contributions to positive social change within organizations and communities.

These historical qualifications contributed to his longstanding familiarity with healthcare environments.
